St. Thomas Episcopal Church 5th Avenue New York, NY Stained Glass Window Restoration narrated by Julie Sloan. This video chronicles the removal and restoration of the upper half of the "Christ the King" window by Northeast Stained Glass in Newton, NJ. The window is located at the base of the brides staircase in the church. The lower half was left unrestored and both sections are presently on exhibit in a showcase in the narthex. This video is an attempt to illustrate the many and varied steps in the restoration process. The "Christ the King" window is rather small, about 19" wide X 40" tall, and extraordinarily beautiful. It's size stands in stark contrast to the enormous 32 foot tall clerestory windows on the north side of the sanctuary.  A  two year program to remove, restore, and reinstall the nine clerestory windows was recently completed. It is our hope that this video gives those who view it an appreciation for the thousands of hours the clerestory project required.
